Day 1c of the 888Live Local London Main Event got underway at 2pm on Saturday 5th March and attracted a whopping 227 entries. With Day 1a pulling in 168 entries and Day 1b drawing another 195, the final tally was a record number for this event of 590.

The £220 buy-in event generated a huge prize pool of £116,820, which saw the £50,000 guarantee smashed. The pay-out structure will be announced before the start of play tomorrow, but the winner is sure to go home with a handsome payday. It is a testament to the popularity of the tournament and the loyalty of players to the 888 brand, in conjunction with Asper’s partnership that has made this tournament such a resounding success.

Day 2 Plays to a Winner

Along with the 21 survivors from Day 1a, 26 from Day 1b and 31 from Day 1c, Day 2 will see a total of 78 players returning to play down to a winner.
Some of the players to look out for are from action on the first two days. The following runners are currently in the top 5 of the leaderboard:
  • Keith Richards on 651,000 (1st place)
  • Stephen Debruin on 446,000 (2nd place)
  • Carlo Hassan with 355,500 (5th place)
A number of our online qualifiers made the trip to the East End of London, including Daniel Rohrbasser, who comes back with 159,000 and Jay Beavers, who travelled down from Manchester through the snow, sitting on 106,000.

The focus and some amount of pressure are sure to be on our ambassadors Kara Scott (251,500) who will be flying the flag for the rest of Team888.

Despite several close(ish) calls, the prize of an iPhone 6 Plus for hitting a Royal Flush remains unclaimed and has been rolled over to the final day.

Monster Pay-Day

The atmosphere in the 888 branded poker room at Aspers has been fantastic. The players have all mentioned how much they enjoyed the structure. Tomorrow, though, is when the action is sure to get more intense as the competition gets fierce and no mercy will be shown.

One player will be crowned the latest 888Live Local London champion tomorrow. And, as well as the first place prize money and an amazing trophy, they will get a $2,200 Las Vegas Experience package on us as sponsors sponsoring the World Series of Poker for the second year running.

Be sure to follow the action on our 888 Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts for updates throughout the day and the final day recap, which will be posted here.
