Explanation of Paint
Certain cards are traditionally more ornate than others. For example, while the Deuce or Trey is usually somewhat plain, cards such as the King, Queen and Jack typically have artwork related to the rank.
This extra artwork is colloquially referred to as “paint”. Cards between the ranks of Jack and Ace are also commonly referred to as “face cards” or “broadways”, terms which carry the same idea as “paint”.
Strategy Application
Presumably being familiar with the term “paint” is not overly important although we might find ourselves being left out of a poker conversation if we don’t know the jargon.
Example of Paint used in a sentence -> We had pocket Sevens and the flop texture was all paint; not really what we were looking for.
